Lets catch up with Lars and the students and staff of Massachusetts Hospital School as he blogs about day 2 at Disney World Florida.  He writes…

“Day 2 Magic Kingdom:

Wake up at 7 am and breakfast down at the Boardwalk. The Bakery is filled with freshly baked goods. We take special arranged buses over to Magic kingdom.

Our first fast pass of the day is Splash Mountain. This is typically one of the favorites. Fortunately it’s warm in the air so as we come out of the ride some more wet than others, we dry off quickly. We head over to Thunder Mountain. This can be a difficult ride for some of our children but it doesn’t stop us from transferring them from the wheelchairs and holding them tight in twist and turns. I’m always amazed how the staff works in unison to get the children on and off rides. The Disney staff are impressed and some remember us from previous trips.

We enjoy the Bear jamboree, jungle cruise, Pirates of Caribbean and Tiki birds. Finally we line up to watch the Magic Kingdom parade. Watching the faces of the children always give me so much pleasure. It’s one of those magical moments. Dinner was over at the Contemporary Resort, Chef Mickey. All the characters greeted the children and staff. Lots of pictures, laughs and good food before going back to Magic Kingdom to view the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular parade and fireworks. We are not back to the hotel until close to 11 pm. We all are exhausted but happy after our first full day at Disney.“

Donations to the Massachusetts Hospital School Foundation are what keep this once in a lifetime pilgrimage possible for its students.  Donate here to keep this 30+ year tradition alive.
